A cable tie, also known as a "zip tie," is a plastic or metal fastener that is used to bundle and organize components, such as wires or cables. The basic design of a cable tie is consistent across most styles. To create a fastened loop, the thin end of the cable tie is fed through the "head" where it interacts with teeth that prevent the cable from moving back the other way. A loop is then formed to harness whatever you are working on. The cable can be pulled through the head until the desired loop tension is created.
